This is a really boring record of my trip and my first day of arrival here in Aberdeen. Since the Tutor said we'd better write something each day, I'll get started right now. Before that, I'm posting my last diary written back on the 20th this month, hopefully this isn't toooooo boring and babbling, hehe. Here it is:

I was sitting next with two Spanish Paralympics competitors on the flight. Actually, the whole Spanish team was on board and they were wearing red Lining sports suit and carrying Lining daypacks. They were happy and were kind of talkative. The old man sitting next to me had one fake leg. And he was always smiling when people noticing that leg made his movement clumsy. There were also some Britain competitors on board.

The ten-hour flight wasn’t so long as I thought. A few movies and naps, along with meals and snacks made the journey not that unbearable. But the chicken was really terrible, even when I was really hungry. The London mayor showed up in the economic cabin when we were halfway to London. He looked as casual as seen on TV, in a white shirt without tie, hair still messy. Some Britain athletes stood up to shake hands with him.

Landing card required but I missed taking one from the steward at the beginning of the flight and when I asked before landing the guy said all cards were handed out.

I was ginger to use the toilet for the two men sitting next to me were both handicapped and I’d rather not trouble them. I stayed in my seat until the old man next to me stood up and went out of seat, when I didn’t have to trouble both. I’ll never again pick a seat by the window when traveling long distance.

Watched Sex and The City II, Kerry and Mr. Big got a happy ending, not bad. Then Watched Pride and Prejudice filmed in 2005, didn’t like it.

Got some GBP changes in Heathrow Airport when waiting to get onboard another flight to Aberdeen. And the flight took of on 15:40 as scheduled.

Very sleepy during the rest of the journey, for back in China it was about mid-night. This time the food was terrible, picked all the vegetables, and didn’t even touch the fish. I was sitting at the emergency exit, and my butt pack was taken and put in the locker by the stewardess for security reason. The plane landed at 5:15pm local time. Then I got all my baggage, 4 pieces, around 70 kg and put all three suitcases in one trolley. A nice old man helped me with my last piece. Then I came out of the building and wait in line for a taxi, when I saw a Chinese girl and we were talking immediately. She’d been on the same flights with me but we’d never seen each other until then. And we are going to the same university, same department, what a happy surprise.

We hired a taxi. The driver help us with the entire heavy luggage, as they say, in Scotland people are friendlier. Soon we arrived at the destination and the charge was GBP 14 in all. We paid him 16 for being helpful. The people in the center of residence were also very helpful. After getting all my stuff in my room, I made a phone call to my sister using the coin-operated phone, when it was about 7pm local time. 

Then we went out to buy some necessities. Shampoo, tooth paste, shower milk, soap, and I got bread and milk, of course. These things are not at all expensive, altogether £2.97. I was hungry at around 3am back-home time (8pm here). I felt that I couldn’t sleep without eating anything, so I swallowed a piece of pitta bread with a kind of local sauce, which was a welcome gift (It must have garlic as an ingredient). Then I went to bed at 9pm local time (4am Beijing time). I Woke up at 4am local time (11am Beijing time) the next morning. Couldn’t sleep, and felt hungry again, got up at 5am and unpack my luggage after eating a pitta. Then went for a shower at 7am, when the flat was all quiet, till around 8 am I heard someone saying “Bye baby.” (Should be a boy, must be speaking to his girlfriend living in this flat)Then he went out of the front door.
