I had a good time this afternoon with a friend Maria. We went to the beach with two other girls, Stefen and Ricala, and spent a couple of hours walking on the soft sand and watching the sea waves. The sea was soothing as always. I felt relaxed and happy with Maria. I should have brought my camera, for there were a lot of beautiful sceneries on the way and the beach as well.  Next time I will…Maria picked up a few shells but later she “set them free”, those shells looked like butterfly wings, with patterns in blue and black. A few dogs were also running and playing on the beach with their masters, and would stop by your side for petting, happy to receive people’s attention.

 

We could see the lake where the river Don forms before running into sea. The River Don is small and meek, so there is no alluvial delta formed. The lake and the sea just meet and melt seamlessly. A few swans were floating on the lake water, gracefully flapping their wings, a peaceful picture. We were both speaking a foreign language and we were making different kinds of mistakes, but we could understand each other well anyway. It is more interesting, also less stressful than when you are talking with a native English speaker.  

 

Maria stays in a catered accommodation hall but I just knew today that they only have brunch provided on Sundays. Since she didn’t like the food in the India Café in our halls, I suggested that we cook together at my place, for I’m staying in self-catered and we have a kitchen and all the appliances, and I’ve got a lot of foodstuff as well. Maria was surprisingly good at cooking. She could chop vegetable very fast and nicely. And the spaghetti sauce she made was amazingly good. She simply used carrots, a half onion, bottled spaghetti sauce and some celery, and it tasted great, with the celery still crunchy. We also boiled some broccoli, and ended up eating a lot of food. That’s what hungry people do with delicious food, hehe. I should have taken a picture of the food, too, they were pretty dishes before eating, oh well…
